My daughter Mia wrote this halloween song, and we recorded the other night in my studio (I'd love to say we did it at midnight, but alas her bedtime is 8:30). Anyway, when it was finished, she decided to make it a benefit for an organization she is taken by.

She chose Smile Train, an organization with a very simple mission- they provide free cleft palette surgeries for kids in developing countries who can't otherwise afford them.

So it turns out these surgeries are much more than just cosmetic. Clefts are a major problem in developing countries where there are millions of children who are suffering with unrepaired clefts. Most cannot eat or speak properly, aren’t allowed to attend school or hold a job, and face very difficult lives filled with shame and isolation.
